my first para gliding trip to bir/billing

Six people sat comfortably in Travera and one person alternatively had to sit at the back with the load. It took 1.5 days to reach Bir, a place sheltered by mountains and a small village which serves as a landing ground.

Then we met Jyoti. "He" was our para gliding instructor.

Then we went up on a dangerous drive from Bir to Billing(14kms), beautiful place in Himachal Pradesh, considered the best gliding sites in the world.

There we met "Chacha", famous all over the world for his only "dhaba" at Billing. He made all the "garama garam" maggie and tea for us.

Three of us did gliding the first day.

The night scene was scintillating with millions of stars.

We did Bonfire at night and slept in tents which we set up on our own.
There was no electricity or toilets, so we had to do everything the "desi" style.

Next day my turn came up for gliding. At first I was afraid but as I jumped off the cliff the fear was gone and I was in the air thousands of feet above the ground and finally landed at Bir after half an hour.

At Bir, I saw children playing, the weather was great and I felt being in heaven.
